Episode 52 is live, and it is the last stop before Seattle. Bro. Lon Milo DuQuette, author, magician, Freemason, and one of my own longtime teachers, joins me to preview his keynote for the Esotericism in Freemasonry Conference: The Three Working Tools of the Kabbalist, treated the way a Mason treats the square and compasses. Lon is coming in person, and at 78 he has a pretty good argument for why you should be there too.

Also in this issue: nine days to EFC 2026, the Ike Baker preview if you missed it, and the full Lon conversation on the blog.

Episode 52: The Three Working Tools of the Kabbalist

w/ Bro. Lon Milo DuQuette | EFC 2026 Keynote Preview

Lon starts with the rough and perfect ashlars and makes the case that a perfect stone has to do more than look perfect: it has to be a working miniature model of the whole universe. His image for it is a giant tuning fork. If the Great Architect is a B flat, your job is to true yourself into a little B flat and let the sympathetic vibration do the rest. Tarot cards are the flashcards of the Kabbalah, and Kabbalistic study is, in Lon's words, a cosmic lube job. You will be lubricated.

Also: whether lodges should already be teaching this, the big tent, why an EFC ticket works out to eight dollars a speaker, Lon's novel Young Aleister Crowley, the expanded Chicken Qabalah coming in December, Homemade Magick in October, and three days at Joshua Tree next spring. Bring your tarot deck to Seattle. Any 78-card deck will do.

Before that, Jonti Marks and Bridie Blaze on the Masonic Wisdom Cards and WB Dago Rodriguez on Fight Club and Fraternal Review.
